Instructions

  • Cut the lemon into four small pieces and add it to a long drink tall tumbler glass with 3 small slices of ginger.
  • Muddle well with the back of a wooden spoon, breaking up the ginger and releasing the juice and oil of the lemon peel.
  • Fill the glass with ice and finish with the Italian limonata, which you can either make with or use commercially produced varieties, which work equally well in this non-alcoholic cocktail.
  • Finish with a twist of lemon (a lemon peel) and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Chill all your ingredients before using, including the glass.
  • Use real lemons. Avoid replacing the lemon pieces with pre squeezed lemon juice
  • Use meyer lemons, if you like.
  • Be sure to wash your lemons very well before muddling them.
  • Try muddling the ginger and lemon with a sprig of mint for extra flavor.
